About the Author
Three decades and hundreds of thousands of photographs later… photographer/adventurer/pilot Charles (Chuck) Feil is still producing exhilarating images of our world from both above and below. Chuck has always believed that if you follow your passions the rest will fall into place. He has done just that by traveling five continents with his camera on his shoulder and a sense of adventure in his soul. Jane Goodall sought him out to make wildlife films on the Serengeti Plains of East Africa. Major publications and corporations appreciate his easy going ways and ability to bring his dazzling photography to the table. Being restless and never completely satisfied, Chuck “kicked it up a notch” by learning to fly and integrate it with his photography skills. It proved a dynamic combination that has created endless stories, such as being the first Gyroplane pilot to fly all 48 States without ground support, www.say2000.org . He has also created 9 books of aerial image! s from Maine to California and a few places in between. His most recent book “The Finger Lakes Region of New York State – A View From Above” is becoming his most celebrated project to date. It features 160 pages of aerial photographs in a region that is often overlooked by outsiders, but adored by its inhabitants. Full of a rich history and remarkable landscape; the Finger Lakes book may be the first of its kind to show it off in a proper way www.viewsfromabove.com . Another piece of Chuck’s arsenal is his “gift of gab”. He enjoys orating multi-media presentations of his many travels from above with an emphasis on inspiring others to follow their talents and passions. As an impassioned speaker he has presented to school children, land preservation groups, camera clubs, galleries, and corporations entwining his thoughts, beautiful music and his striking photography in a creative flow that leaves his audience wanting more. As always Chuck is seeking out co-conspirators me! rge his vision of the world from above with those who seek to broaden their own!
