Octavo. 23.5cm. Publisher's bottle green cloth titled and decorated in gilt to spine and front board. 155pp. Minor scuffing to the spine ends and corners, otherwise clean and handsome; internally clean, pencil ownership to front flyleaf, front inner hinge cracked showing linen, secure but still more mobile than desirable, illustrated throughout, with 11 plates of fingerprint card samples in pocket affixed to the inner rear pastedown, with two additional original fingerprint cards also present. A very good copy marred by a cosmetically cracked hinge. One of the earliest complete instructional texts on the proper method of taking, preserving, and accurately analysing fingerprints in the field of criminal investigation.
