Fire Your Director

YOUR BRAIN IS RUNNING A MOVIE. YOU DIDN'T HIRE THE DIRECTOR.

At 3 a.m., the same scene plays again: the conversation that goes wrong, the presentation that falls apart, the decision that ruins everything. You didn't choose that footage. Something else did, and it's screening this movie in vivid detail, without your consent.

After thirty years of anxiety, and one night standing twenty feet from a freeway trying to decide how to end his life, Joe Visintainer discovered the mechanism underneath the pattern that had been running him. Anxiety is not a character flaw. It is a neurological loop, a misuse of imagination. And loops can be interrupted.

In Fire Your Director, Visintainer shares the Anxiety Override™ Method: a five-step process, Stabilize, Enter, Elevate, Override, Action, that trains you to step into a high-pressure moment before it happens, replace the worst-case preview your mind is already running, and walk in having already rehearsed success.

This isn't theory. It's the method Joe built from inside his own crisis and has since taught to leaders, sales professionals, and high performers who need to function under real pressure: the difficult conversation, the big pitch, the performance review, the decision with no clear right answer. Chapter by chapter, you'll learn to apply it to the moments that actually matter: negotiations, leadership under pressure, high-stakes decisions, and the quiet 3 a.m. spirals that drain you before the day even starts.

Fire Your Director is for anyone whose imagination has been hijacked by anxiety, and who is ready to take back the director's chair.
