In the flames of suffering, a miracle is forged.

Why is this happening to me? I thought I was invincible, until I was struck down in the prime of my life. I was crushed, discouraged, and exhausted. I suffered through pain and problems that I never thought that I would face. Yet through it all, I experienced firsthand that sometimes the thing that you think is meant to destroy you is the very thing that God is using to grow you, change you, and prepare you for a future that you never could have imagined. I could have given up, but I never considered it an option. Instead, I became like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace and allowed God to do with me what He will.

Travis Hearn is the Senior Pastor of Impact Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has served as the Phoenix Suns Team Chaplain since 2002, and previously served as chapel leader for the National Football League, Major League Baseball, and Minor League Baseball for over a decade. Travis and his wife, Natalie, live in Arizona and have been married since 1998.
