Marty is an ordinary little fly living in a peaceful forest meadow with his many bug friends. As he watches the ants work hard, the bees gather pollen, the crickets play music, and the caterpillars prepare for a mysterious change, Marty begins to notice that each creature has been given a special purpose by Mother Nature.

Feeling unsure of his own place in the world, Marty sets out to find Mother Nature and ask if there is a special task meant for him too. Along the way, he learns about friendship, patience, and the importance of every living creature, no matter how small. When Mother Nature finally gives Marty his gift, he discovers that his light can help guide his friends safely through the dark.
