The far future is ravaged by war and ruled by nightmare states. Worse yet, there are witches on the prowl, rivers running backward, and cows that may have become sentient.

In the blasted hellscape that is the Sixth Realm of Alberta, a children’s terrorist gang roams the gigantic Old Moon Mall and the underworlds beneath. Enraged by generations of extractive destruction, false promises, and ruined futures, they plan to exact revenge on their own parents by blowing up the capital city and the mighty resource fields that surround it.

New to the gang is young Orphid the orphan. She’s got magical DNA that holds the key to the plot. She’s got brothers and sisters at last. But can she keep her own hatreds from flaming out of control? And can she hold on to her new chosen family, the only one she’s ever known?

Fire Sands is a slapstick splatterpunk dystopia sure to appeal to juvenile delinquents and defiant children who look suspiciously like adults—half comedy, half tragedy, all bad attitude.
