The Fire Slayers (Paperback or Softback)

Growing up as the only human brother in an alien colony, Venzel knew he wanted two things; to find a way to repay the Lyostians for saving his mother's life and to have a family of his own.

At twenty-five, Venzel fearlessly guards the colony's secrets, acquires items the Lyostians cannot produce, and finds wives for his alien brothers. When he meets the beautiful and passionate Destani, Venzel believes his dreams of a family are coming true. Despite Venzel's efforts, the colony's secrets become heartbreakingly evident when Destani gives birth to a fire slayer, leaving Venzel with something he did not dream of—a child created from flesh and fire who calls him "Father."

Overcoming the tragic consequences of his birth, Timaeus's youth is one of hope and promise, but the struggle between the love for his human parents and the inescapable responsibilities to his alien brothers brings his loyalty into question. To test his allegiance, he is assigned the most dangerous role within the Lyostian collective; that of an assassin. There are many things Venzel is willing to sacrifice for the love of his brothers, but his son is not one of them. When he discovers that Timaeus must face a brutal life of murder and destruction, the fate of humanity is caught between the love in Venzel's heart and the gun in his hands.

A science-fiction fantasy with dark overtones, The Fire Slayers tracks a young alien's relationship with his human father who discovers that fire changes everything - even love.
