My First Baking Book

There's no doubt about it: Kids love to bake! They take to it like peach crisp and cream, like apples and muffins, like honey and spices, like all the many happy combinations in this very special collection of baking recipes.

These 50 kid-tested recipes are clearly written and easy-to-bake for children 6 and up. All are accompanied by gleefully drawn two-color, step-by-step illustrations by Tedd Arnold. And there are two 16-page full-color sections featuring treats for the holidays and other special occasions. Liberally sprinkled throughout are tidbits of food facts (Did you know those Georgia peaches originally came from China?).

Here is Oatmeal and Nut Streusel to liven up the family breakfast. Indian Pudding Pie to serve as a special Thanksgiving dessert. Fudge Sticks to take on a summer picnic, and Moon Cookies to share with a friend.

Complete with a full chapter on kitchen safety and proper use of kitchen utensils, plus plenty of recipes using whole grains and fruit juice sweeteners to bake up yummy and nutritiously sound, My First Baking Book is a must for all young chefs.
