About the Authors

Irene Sevrey was born in Michigan and was a public school teacher. She served in WW II in the Army Air Corps as a WAC.

A native of Kentucky, she studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she graduated in 1934. She travelled and studied in Europe on a fellowship and returned tot he United States to do freelance work in New York and Chicago.
