The First Book Of Moses, Called Genesis: Translated Into Grebo Tongue (1850)

""The First Book of Moses, Called Genesis: Translated Into Grebo Tongue"" is a book that was translated by John Payne in 1850. The book is a translation of the first book of the Bible, Genesis, into the Grebo language. The Grebo language is spoken by the Grebo people, who are an ethnic group in Liberia and Ivory Coast. The book contains the stories of creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the flood, and the tower of Babel. The translation was done to make the Bible accessible to the Grebo people, who were predominantly illiterate at the time. The book is significant because it represents the efforts of missionaries to spread Christianity to different parts of the world and to make the Bible available to people in their own language. It is also a valuable resource for scholars interested in the history of Bible translation and the spread of Christianity in Africa. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
