(205x272mm), pp: xv,[i]+88,[2], woodcut Riccardi Press device on final leaf, title page vignette and 10 coloured plates, incl. frontispiece, with captioned tissue guards, after F. Cayley Robinson. In original quarter linen, pale blue paper boards with white title label to spine and front board lettered in black, in blue-grey dustjacket printed to spine & front board, top edge gilt others untrimmed, with silk marker, boards lightly spotted, offset from d/w to endpapers, otherwise sound, tight and very good indeed. A Handsome Copy with Dustjacket in excellent condition. Bible in English, King James Version.Robinson, Frederick Cayley. (1862-1927), In addition to painting, Robinson designed murals, posters and theatre sets, and illustrated a number of books. His stage designs for Maurice Maeterlinck's The Blue Bird, produced at the Haymarket Theatre in London in 1909 were much admired. He studied art in London, Paris and Florence and was much influenced by Edward Burne-Jones.
