The First Book of Soprano Solos: Includes 2 Cds

The First Book of Soprano Solos, edited by Joan Frey Boytim, is a vocal collection for soprano voice with piano accompaniment. Widely used in voice teaching throughout the United States, it brings together more than 30 carefully selected works, including American and British art songs, folk song arrangements, sacred repertoire, and beginning selections in German, Italian, Spanish, and French. The repertoire is identified as medium to medium-difficult.

Designed for soprano singers, voice teachers, and accompanists, the collection includes vocal melody, lyrics, piano accompaniment, and introductory text. A unique access code provides online audio that can be streamed or downloaded. The included PLAYBACK+ audio player allows singers to slow playback without changing pitch, create loop points for focused practice, change keys, and adjust stereo balance.

The carefully curated repertoire introduces singers to a broad range of musical styles and historical periods while providing varied literature for voice lessons, studio work, auditions, recitals, and personal repertoire building.
