Bound together in two uniform volumes. 1/4 burgundy morocco and ribbed brown cloth sides. Leather backed spines still supple and sound with gilt titles tooled directly to the leather. Spines in five compartments with 4 raised bands. Abbreviated titles for each of the 8 books letered to the spines. Contents clean and neat and snugly bound. Illustrated throughout with woodcut figures. The books on Mammalogy and Ornithology includes numbered full page plates with accompanying plate descriptive pages adjacent to the plates. Other volumes have frontis plate only. 12 page descriptive catalog of Grigg catalog titles at front of the 1st Volume. [6] pp of testimonials and endorsements of the Natural History Series appended to rear of Vol I. Glossary of terms featured at the end of each of the 8 separately pages titles. Vol I. , 12; 120; 151, [12]; 125, [16]; 145; 114, [6]. Pp. Vol II. , 120; 159; 235 pp. Light rubbing to leather st spine ends; cloth over boards nicked and rubbed at corner tips; top and bottom edges. Prior ownership poenned to endpages. Here and there some light foxing or toning; a few pages with a short closed tear at an edge. Overall snug and neat. Uncommonly found in the full set of works bound thus, in this case likely boundfor an individual who owned them as a student. VG. .
