First Christmas ASL: The Nativity Story For Young Children

This is the nativity story, simplified so children can participate and learn why we celebrate Christmas. Beginning American Sign Language signs are illustrated throughout to further engage readers and audiences.

Children can learn to communicate using sign even before they can learn to speak. Teaching sign language to children before they’re a year old can help them to express their needs and feelings. This fun book is for hearing and deaf children alike, and contains over fifty basic signs. Designed for parents and care givers to share with babies, with it's simple signs, clear visual instructions and engaging story, this book is an easy introduction to signing. Children can follow along, making it easy for them to practice and understand. Several pages of signs are included at the end of the book for review and further learning. This book can also be used as a supplement to teachers' curriculum.
