vi ( inc. Title page) + 227 pages + 1 page of recommendations. Condition; Full leather hardback binding, good. edge rubbing. Contents many pages good, clean & tight, though a number of pages with mostly pencil inscriptions, rubbed ink inscriptions/marks to top of title page,a few with marks, some corner tip folding. Lacks front endpage. James Macgowan, late master of a classical and commercial school, Liverpool, and author of several esteemed elementary works on education. This is a tenth edition, at rear states end of first part presumably due to the second course. This seems to have been a popular School book of the time, but surprisingly rare today, none listed on WorldCat, and at time of listing, was unable to find another copy for sale. Size: 15 x 9cm Approx.
