My First Five Years Pre-schooler: Everyday activities to support your child’s development

If you’re looking for fresh, playful ideas to support your child’s development, their confidence and get them ‘ready for school'', look no further!

Written by renowned childcare experts at My First Five Years, the popular parental support app, this unique book of 60 activities explains the why behind different types of play, and shows you how to make the most of short, daily moments together.

If you’re starting to think about your child starting school, there can be all kinds of things on your mind. Are they ready to hold a pencil and learn to write? Will they be able to pay attention in a classroom? Will they know how to make friends? This book breaks down exactly what skills are important for your child to be ‘ready for school'', and how you can support their development using simple, fun and low-cost activities.

The book is split into six streams of development – social and emotional, gross motor, fine motor, sensory, language and cognitive – and each chapter includes a summary of the underlying science followed by step-by-step guides to support this at home. From puppet play to wacky races, the ideas fit neatly into daily life and focus on turning play into a solid foundation from which all learning grows.

The book is beautifully colour illustrated and also features QR codes throughout, linking to free additional related content.
