First Intelligence History Symposium, October 19, 1992: Intelligence and the Cuban Missile Crisis 1962

Tri-fold brochure, with six panels (3 per side) The First Intelligence History Symposium was held in the auditorium at the CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Attendance was by invitation, either by letter or by tickets allocated for members of the Intelligence Community. The symposium ran from 9: 00 a.m. until 4: 30 p.m. (with a lunch break and access to the CIA cafeteria). This first symposium fommemorated the thirtieth anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Center for the Study of Intelligence was the CIA's focal point for research and publication on intelligence, and included the CIA HIstory Staff, the Historical Review Group (that declassified historical documents), university programs, and classified publications. At this symposium the History Staff published a collection of recently declassified CIA documents to help fill gaps in the information available to scholars on the Cuban Missile Crisis.
