About the Author

Alf Weaver was born in London in 1935. After a promising career as a boxer and a stint in the army, he single-handledly created the blueprint for today's celebrity bodyguard. Father of two, he sold his successful security company at the end of 2000 and retired for a quieter life in the Kent countryside.

Robert Ashton lives and works in London. He started his journalism career in the mid '80s and has written for some of the world's leading newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Los Angeles Times, GQ, and Elle.
