The First and Second Letters to Timothy Volume 1

This is a print on demand book and is therefore non- returnable.

This superb commentary — the culmination of Jerome Quinn's life's work on the Pastorals brought to completion by William Wacker — provides a new translation of 1 Timothy along with notes and commentary. The NOTES section of the book offer detailed philological analysis of the majority of the words used in these Pastoral Epistles. The COMMENT sections guide readers through the complicated theological and practical issues facing the heirs of Paul in the Christian church.

Jerome D. Quinn, who died in 1988 after completing the first draft of this commentary, was professor of Old and New Testament and the Hebrew language at St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. He was also past president of the Catholic Biblical Association, and editor of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly, and a visiting professor at the Pontifical Biblical Institute.

William C Wacker is headmaster at Trinity School at River Ridge in Bloomington, Minnesota.
