About the Author
Lisa Batch left her home in Waban, Massachusetts, for the bright lights of Broadway. Her mom, an Emerson College graduate who taught drama, and her dad, a talented drummer with the Dorsey Brothers, no doubt influenced her decision. After graduating from Professional Children's School and American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Lisa embarked on a successful singing career, singing on Broadway and many international cruise ships around the world. These days, she splits her time between Bonita Springs, Florida, and Tiverton, Rhode Island, with her great husband, Herb Batchelder. The First Song is the third book Lisa has written (Stars Journey and Rosie Babysits), and her debut book as author and illustrator. She hopes her book will tickle funny bones as well as inspire young minds. For more information, visit lisabatch.com.
