The First Step (Paperback)

The First Step takes you on a journey with Joey as he learns to live a barrier free life. With Mae at his side they overcome one obstacle after another. Joey's courage, with Mae's support, helps get them both out of some troubles along the way. Joey survives some dangerous situations and with each step becomes more and more independent.

I was born in Russell, KS. I graduated from Laramie High School in Laramie, WY. Attending the University of Wyoming I received two bachelor degrees, one in Physical Education and one in Elementary Education. My first job was 4 years in Chugwater, WY followed by 18 years in Dallas, TX. While teaching a year in New Mexico I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002. I had to leave teaching. After a few years I decided to follow my dream of writing a book, which I did. The First Step is my first step at writing. It has a sequel named Night Spirit. It has the same two characters as The First Step.
