First Time Guinea Pig Parent: What They Didn't Tell Me

Think You’ve Got What it Takes to Bring a Guinea Pig (or two) Home, Even if You’ve Never Had a Pet Before?

The Guinea Pig Pet Market can be a bit misleading. Many parents buy these little piggies for their kids, only to have them returned some months, weeks, or even days later!

Why does this happen? Could Guinea Pigs really require more upkeep than other animals?

• Walk with me through the mistakes I made early on!
• Become familiar with Guinea Pig mannerisms!
• Think you can trust the market to sell you any Guinea Pig cage or treat you find online or at the store? Let’s find out, together!
• Think you’re better off adopting from a local pet store? Let’s find out, together!
• Gain a foundational understanding of the financial commitment, before you go blundering in, like I did!

Let me take you by the hand, and we’ll take a stroll down Memory Lane (my memories), where we will unpack these questions alongside my experiences as a first-time Guinea Pig Parent!

If you are curious about adopting a piggie and need some direction or guidance, then it’s by no accident that we’ve found each other here. Inside this little book, there is not just knowledge and wisdom to be gained, but also a taste for the joys and trials of loving two fluffy sweet potatoes!
