The First Time I Noticed: poems on becoming what stays (The Quiet Things Series (Fatherhood Collection))

Some things don’t leave.
They just change how they stay.

The First Time I Noticed is a quiet, deeply personal collection of poems about fatherhood, memory, and the subtle ways we become what was once given to us.

It isn’t about answers.
It isn’t about closure.

It’s about the moments that didn’t feel important at the time
but somehow shaped everything.

Through small observations, inherited habits, and the quiet presence of someone no longer physically here, these poems explore what it means to carry someone forward without trying to hold onto them.

Not loudly.
Not perfectly.

Just… naturally.

This collection is for anyone who has ever:

• realized they’re becoming someone they once watched
• felt something stay long after it was gone
• understood love not as something you keep… but something you continue

Some things don’t disappear.

They just become part of how you move through the world.
