About this Item

Three volumes of the travels of Doctor Syntax rendered in verse by William Coombe. The volumes have been rebound with the original boards laid on. All the volumes are tight and in good condition with only very slight scuffing at the edges of the cover. There is a book plate in each volume: "Edgar A. Guest." This edition is distinguished by the marvelous hand coloured plates of Thomas Rowlandson, each plate protected by tissue guards; they are as fresh as if just printed.
