Two Ex-libris (one on front paste down : "Edward Brown Lees and Dorotty Lidesey his wife", another on ffep : "H. Prentiss N. Gray". E. K. Kane was an adventurous navy surgeon who volunteered to accompany the first Grinnell Arctic expedition in search of the lost English Northwest Passage expedition under Sir John Franklin (1786-1847).
