The Fish Who Could Fly is a 32-page, character-driven picture book about a young fish who believes he can truly fly. The book is based on real-life marine animals and has an uplifting message for children that they can do anything they put their minds to if they believe in themselves. The book also contains pictures of, and facts about, many marine characters portrayed in the story; thus the readers can identify with the real animals that live in the ocean.

About the Author

Leonard W. Lambert is a University of Washington graduate with a degree in communication and he is a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He has been a shipboard professional in several capacities, including captain, and has made a career of sailing to remote destinations to see what the world is about. Leonard resides in Snohomish, Washington with his wife, Megan, and daughter, Eva. His love of the sea has fueled his passion for writing where out on the open ocean your imagination can drift far and wide.

Illustrator Bio

Distinctively stylized illustrator Kevin Cook displayed his gift for art during early childhood, when he decorated everything in sight with his artwork. Kevin attended Sheridan College School of Animation and Design, and has worked in the fields of comics, animation, and graphic and web design through his creative design company, Nivek Studios. He enjoys hanging out with the exotic fish in his office during the evenings, and can be found studying and illustrating these fish in and amongst working on his other creative projects.
