Fit to Retire?: Your Guide to Successful Aging and a New Model for Retirement

Fit to Retire? is not about simply making it to retirement or enjoying retirement. It is not just about health. Rather, it is a shout to the heavens, a wakeup call, a battle cry: True health in your retirement -- that is, physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness -- enables you to live the full, purposeful, and active life you want. Too many Americans retire with no sense of purpose or direction to give vibrancy, focus, and fulfillment to the last third of their lives. Too often, getting ready for retirement becomes some combination of financial planning and medical checkups.

Author William Nelson offers you inspiration to "Use Yourself Up!" during this special time of your life. With an emphasis on maintaining your health, Fit to Retire? shows you how to prevent illness and accidents and chart a course for staying healthy. Nelson coaches you in the five essential wellness skills and behaviors necessary to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, he helps you explore old, new, and rediscovered approaches to health and wellness that you can consider for a more diverse, less invasive approach to healthcare.

New York Yankee Mickey Mantle said it best: "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself." Fit to Retire? shows you how to take better care of yourself, age successfully, and enjoy an active and enjoyable retirement.
