About the Author
Mike Saunders the CEO of DigitLab. A digital marketing agency working with local and international organisations to build meaningful relationships with their customers. An international speaker, Mike has had the privilege of working with some of the worlds most prestigious organisations including Vodafone, IBM, Microsoft, KPMG, Norton Rose, Mr Price, Toyota and Exxaro. Along with his experience in business, Mike has also contributed to leadership programmes for Gordon's Institute of Business. Mike has been at the forefront of business transitioning into a world of social and mobile technology. He has been a key part of important projects looking into the use of social technology in marketing campaigns, internal communications, social learning, leadership development, knowledge management, collaboration, project management and enterprise social media. Acknowledged by his peers as one of the Top 20 South Africans to follow on Twitter in 2011, and one of the best contributors to the industry, Mike has won the respect of business by his determined approach to helping business navigate a diverse and complicated world of Digital Business. Mike's digital agency DigitLab was nominated as one of South Africa's Best Digital Agency's by The Bookmarks Awards in 2012. In 2013 Mike released 'Raising Digital Citizens', a resource for parents looking to protect and raise their children in a digital age. At the beginning of 2015, Mike launched Monocle, a real-time social intelligence tool that helps marketers manage online social media crises. Influencer marketing and social media campaigns. The product has been launched under the DigitLab banner and was designed and developed by the DigitLab team. Mike is often called on by business magazines and websites to comment on technology, social media and Generation Y. In 2014 Mike won the Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to Social Media at the New Generation Social and Digital Media Awards. As an entrepreneur and businessman, Mike has built DigitLab into one of South Africa's premier digital marketing companies. Mike sits on the International Advisory board of the Internet of Things Asia Conference and on the VEGA School of Branding Advisory Council. He is the founder of Digital Swarm, an event series aimed at accelerating the digital industry.
