Synopsis
When God allows us to experience the unexpected loss of a child or other loved one, or to face a tragedy of any sort, the pain can be unthinkable. In fact, it can be so deep that we cannot even express our grief with mere words. Such tragic storms can leave us feeling devastated and confused, challenging our faith at its very core. Arlener Steels-Poydras takes us on the rollercoaster journey of her own tragic storm. From the moment she learned of the unexpected death of her twenty-three year old son to the “life in the fog” that followed, we gain a view of a life marked by utter grief, darkness, apathy, and even an inability to engage in the spiritual disciplines that she once performed so easily. However, through Flashes in the Fog, God gave her hope just when she needed it the most. He would show up in jaw-dropping, amazing ways to let her know that He was right there by her side in the darkness! Flashes in the Fog offers a transparent, rarely-seen glimpse into the life of a believer who has encountered the tragic loss of a loved one and fought her way back, allowing her tragedy to be used for God’s glory. Designed to help those dealing with a tragic loss of any kind as well as those who desire to learn how to comfort people in such a state, this book serves as a roadmap out of the darkness and into God’s marvelous light!
