When Lickety-Split and Splish-Splash get separated from the other penguins after their boat's motor breaks, they decide to make the most of their time at sea and do some swimming and fishing.
Preschool-Grade 2--Lickety-Split and Splish-Splash are penguins. When their boat's motor is broken, they do not have enough money to fix it, so they decide to view the sunset and try to figure out what to do. However, they fall asleep and don't realize that the piece of the iceberg on which they are resting has broken off and is floating away. The penguins left behind become worried and build a raft to search for them. Meanwhile, Lickety-Split and Splish-Splash wake up in the middle of the Arctic Ocean and discover a sunken treasure under their melting island before being rescued by a puffin named Loopedy-Loop and their friends. Of course, they use the loot to repair their boat and Loopedy-Loop invites them to visit. The delightful pen-and-ink cartoons convey the action but can't save the preposterous story. Penguins live in the southern hemisphere and would not be anywhere near the North Pole. Also, since they are adept swimmers, it is hard to believe that they need any kind of rescuing.
