Luisa Villar Liébana nació en Torredonjimeno, España, en 1950. Licenciada en Filología Hispánica y con estudios de Sociología, es conocida por su labor dentro de la literatura infantil y juvenil, escribiendo numerosos libros y antologías de cuentos, y participando en campañas de promoción y animación de la lectura en instituciones penitenciarias y diversos ministerios. Asimismo, ha sido la creadora de una importante red de bibliotecas de barrio.
