Octavo, contemporary calf, worn, joints broken but cords firm, some catchwords and headlines shaved, few light stains from pressed flowers, last portion with minor worming to outer edge just touching a few letters at outer edge but not affecting legibility, tiny wormtrail at inside blank gutter, light age tanning, faint waterstain, remains of colored sticker on front blank end leaf, complete with the first leaf blank except for the very rare longitudinal title and with the publisher's catalogue listing among other items, Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of Chamlet." This imprint of the period immediately preceding the Great Fire of London, and during the waning years of the Cromwellian era went through three more editions in the next several years; all are rare. Wing B 3773. The very rare first edition in English.
