The Flower Colour Directory

For the gardener planning a flower scheme or the flower arranger devising a display, colour is the first consideration. By categorizing many hundreds of flower varieties according to colour, this book aims to offer a valuable reference source on this major concern. The book opens with a practical section on colour in the garden which focuses on planning and planting. In the main part of the book, nine colour-coded sections give access to the finest varieties across the colour spectrum. Each entry in the directory includes a detailed description of the plant and its flowers, a colour photograph, all the necessary information on cultivation and propagation and recommended methods of preservation. A separate section on shrubs and trees provides a guide to selecting the more permanent aspects of a garden with a view to providing material for flower arrangements - not just for colour, but for attractive and unusual foliages and stems.
