Susan Loy has spent thousands of hours researching and illustrating the language of flowers for her popular Literary Calligraphy¨ paintings. As America's favorite literary artist, she presented the official poster as Artist-on-the-Lawn at the 1999 White House Easter Egg Roll. Her art is part of the permanent collection of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC.
With an American Studies degree from Miami University and graduate coursework in art history, literature, and philosophy at Ohio State, she approaches her art from a truly multidimensional perspective. Each painting requires weeks, or often, months to complete.
