- It is possible to consider this work both as a novel and as a history textbook. Through his original writing, the author introduced historical events through the everyday life activities of the novel characters to make the plot more engaging and lively. It is a pretext for him to study the social ebbs and flows of a Third World country throughout different historical circumstances from colonization to decolonization and civil war. This book provides an overview of the evolution of a human society in its geopolitical, sociological, political, economic and social context.
