*Sales/posting to the USA suspended*. Hard cover dust wrapper, 128pp, some b&w photos. Light wear to dw/board edges, a couple of light scores on front dw; a very good copy. The author was 19 when he joined the 2/3rd Field Regiment. He describes his part in the Battle of Retimo (Rethymnon), but the bulk of the story focusses on his hardships as a prisoner of war and his escape from his POW camp. His escape from Crete by British submarine reveals the network which was established by Royal Navy Intelligence, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Cretan Resistance. This edition includes those names, places and incidents deleted from the original publication.
