FLUTED PROJECTILE POINT PRODUCTION AS REVEALED BY LITHIC SPECIMENS FROM THE ADAIR-STEADMAN SITE IN NORTHWEST TEXAS (Paper presented at a Symposium on Paleo-Indian Lifeways held at The Museum, Texas Tech University Lubbock, Texas, October 16-18, 1975), Office of the State Archeologist Special Report 18, by Curtis Tunnell, softcover, probable 1st edition (5 April 1997), illustrated with drawings and B/W photos, 1975. BOOK CONDITION: near fine. The text block is in fine condition with no marks, tears, or dog ears. There is no bookplate nor signature of the previous owner. Not a library book nor remainder. Tight binding. The cream-colored wraps are in near fine condition. 10 ½ x 8 ½, 38 pages, 7 ounces [from the abstract] Analysis of an extensive Lithic collection from a Folsom campsite has produced significant technological data, one facet of which is presented in this paper. Broken projectile point preforms, channel flakes and other debitage reveal details of a complex fluting process. A model of how fluting was accomplished and how it often went awry is presented.
