The cover has green cloth with black letters and an illustration. 448 pages; 11 chapters; b/w frontispiece; b/w figures; index. The frontispiece is a b/w photo of the author. The cover is poor condition: The spine strip is a mottled brown. The front board has scrapes and stains; the back board is less thus, but two corners each have a water stain. Five of the board edges each have thread bare spots, 1/12 in. to a linear 7/8 in. The text block ends have darkened. A 1 7/8 in. line of light stain is on the foredge.
