"Fly-Wheels - Machinery's Reference Series" is a detailed guide to fly-wheels, being a handy reference of their calculations, design, workings, and much more. A flywheel is a mechanical device designed to store rotational energy and resist changes in rotational speed through their moment of inertia. It's invention is attributed to the development of the steam engine during the industrial revolution. Contents include: "Fly-wheels, Their Purpose, Calculation and Design", "Fly-wheel Tests", Safe Speed for Fly-wheels", "Size, Weight and Capacity of Fly-Wheels for Punches", "Simplified Methods for Fly-wheel Calculations", and "Fly-Wheel for Motor-Driven Planers". This volume is highly recommended for those with an interest in fly-wheels, and it would make for a superb addition to collections of vintage engineering literature. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with the original text and artwork.
