The "Flyer's Recreation Guide - SW" describes the 70 best fly-in destinations in the southwestern United States for small airplane pilots, and what to do when you get there. Airports range from paved to rugged mountain airstrips. Each is described with photos and safety tips. The guide tells you how to locate transportation, lodging, restaurants, unusual sights, recreation, hiking trails, fishing, hot springs, and more. Hundreds of photos and maps help you visualize the destinations in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah.

Reed I. White is an instrument-rated pilot who has gathered information for the Flyer's Recreation Guide since the mid-1980's. The first of the series was printed in 1988. He flys a 180 HP Cessna 172, which has been modified for backcountry flying. Reed graduated from the University of Wisconsin with an interdisciplinary Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Filmmaking, and Art, and began flying while at the university. After moving to Oregon, he realized his passion for flying the mountain airstrips.
