Tall hardback, approx 10 x 7.5 inches. Halfbound fie binding with brown morocco leather to spine and olive grey cloth to boards. Gilt fox vignette to front, with gilt lettering and designs to spine. Top page edges gilt. Plain endpapers. In very good condition. Some rubbing to leather on ends of spine else cover clean and smart. Some light foxing to endpapers and prelims, else pages clean and tight. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 292pp. Map on rear endpaper. Illustrated with 40 full-page plates by Charles Simpson, including 25 in colour (grey paper plates) and many smaller illustrations within text.
