first edition and printing, vol. 6 of the series 'Languages of the Guianas', published by the Summer Institute of Linguistics, printed book only, no audio tape; from the library of the linguist Glenn Gilbert with Gilbert's pencilled inscription on the title page and book plate laid in, considerable shelfwear, black-tape binding beginning to loosen, plastic label-maker strip, with title, author, and date, affixed vertically along front of binding, interior clean and unmarked, rated Fair; this hard-to-find work would be of interest to collectors of books on pidgin and creole languages, and specifically on Taki-Taki or Sranan Tongo; although its main purpose is to teach the reader to converse in the language using the audio-lingual method, there is also some grammatical information attached to the lessons towards the end; the language is a real eye-opener for the native speaker of English with little or no knowledge of creole languages; soft covers are green with black lettering, the publisher's logo in black on the front; 4to -- 252 millimeters high, vi + 117 numbered pages. G. Wells' The Time Machine, a novel of the 19th century pointing to a scary future, a continuing revelation to me. Triple G Books stands back of its books in every way.
