The study of Ruth is the story of one small, ordinary Jew-ish family. One family seemingly chosen among other fam-ilies during a very dark and chaotic time in Israel’s history when “every man was doing what was right in their own eyes” (Judg. 21:25). The land has been experiencing eco-nomic hardship due to a famine. Their circumstances are bleak, pressing them to make some hard decisions. Can you relate?
