8vo 8" - 9" tall; 218 pages; [1934] Grosset & Dunlap. HC/DJ [Carpentieri 1934 B5] Early, overall 5th printing of Hardy Boys #12. Snugly bound and very neat in original issue cream spine dust jacket with original Gretta jacket art showing a melee on a pier. Thicker style book printed on heavier paper is tight in binding style #3 of light tan/brown cloth with thatch pattern and title design in dark brown. 13 Hardy Boys titles on front flap; 12 in descriptive list at rear. 4 Roy Stover titles on rear jacket cover with X Bar X 1-11, 13 titles on rear flap. Handsome and very neat with publisher's blue/black top stain uniform and unfaded. Dust jacket rubbed at edges with a few short closed tears and tiny nicks along with some stressing at base of spine. Prior owner has used some short and juficious length so transparent tape to reinforce spine ends, front flap fold and corners, mostly on the blank reverse surface but to corner tips and spine ends with tiny external applications.
