Forest Bathing : 50 Nature Connection Cards

Reap the mental and physical benefits of forest bathing with this essential toolkit, complete with 50 beautifully designed nature connection exercise cards and a 64-page guidebook.

This kit provides an uplifting, screen-free introduction to forest bathing with simple and easy-to-follow exercise prompts stunningly and accessibly presented on individual cards. In the accompanying booklet, explore the origins, science and benefits of this increasingly popular practice and find advice and simple sequences to enhance your own mindful walk in the woods.

Each card, gorgeously illustrated with inspiring nature photographs by Dominick Tyler and delicate woodcuts by Rosanna Morris, includes an exercise prompt to help you engage mindfully with nature, through:

• Your five senses, the key to slowing down and developing present-moment awareness;
• Your sense of empathy, which brings you closer to the natural world; and
• The process of ‘treelaxation’, which allows you to absorb all the peace and tranquillity you have cultivated.

Take a selection of cards with you on a walk in the woods, pick a card when you wake up to set your intention for the day, or perhaps select one to help ground you at the end of a working week. This set is an endlessly adaptable resource for modern well-being.

The Forest Bathing Institute (TFBI) was founded by Gary Evans and Olga Terebenina, who set out to advance the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) in the UK, and started a programme of research dedicated to replicating the original physiological research carried out in Japan.  Gary and Olga are peer-reviewed authors and are committed to furthering research into the effectiveness of this nature-based therapy.

In just a few years TFBI has grown to over 50 guides across the UK with many more in training.  It has established links with over 20 universities, and numerous research programmes are underway. The Institute also works hard to raise awareness of the effectiveness of Forest Bathing+ and works closely with local and central government, charities and key policy makers to make Forest Bathing+ available to as many people who can benefit as possible.
