Within A Forest Dark is North East indie publisher InkyLab's third anthology of thirteen short stories from new and upcoming writers from across the UK and beyond. For this edition they have gone with the broad theme of 'lost/off the beaten track', a springboard from which the writers have launched themselves.
from the avant-garde artistic pieces of life in lockdown Britain and a concept work on a marriage gone catastrophically wrong by Johnny O to the fantastical and supernatural tales of goblins, vampires and the Devil herself from Sara Waymont, Emily Chapman, and Andrew Campbell; from identity crisis in the NorthEast of the here and now to brief encounters in 1930s Berlin and samurai duels in a virtual Japanese shogunate - we've everything from lost lives to near-deaths and the whole gamut besides, something for everyone to lose themselves in.
