Brown blind-stamped cloth with spine titles in gilt; 12mo; 259pp; illustrated with wood-cut frontispiece of moose plus 7 other full page plates & 12 woodcuts within text; 2nd edition (1851) With the exception to the binding, identical to the 1st edition of 1851. An entertaining and factual account of logging and the lumber trade in northeastern North America during the 19th century. This copy in G to VG condition with faded titles and chipping to spine ends, a bit of light cover wear, internally clean with neat owner's name tag to front pastedown.
