My Forever Cat (When Life Feels Big)

Losing a beloved pet can be one of a child’s first experiences with grief—and finding the right words to explain that loss isn’t always easy.

My Forever Cat follows a young girl as she remembers the life she shared with her beloved cat, Max. From his silly little habits and favorite toys to his comforting cuddles and big, lovable paws, Max wasn’t just her pet. He was her best friend.

When the time comes to say goodbye, she learns that missing someone and loving them can exist together. Although Max can no longer be beside her, the memories they created, the love they shared, and all the little things that made him special are hers to keep forever.

With warm watercolor illustrations and simple, comforting language, My Forever Cat gently helps children understand pet loss while reassuring them that saying goodbye does not mean forgetting.

Perfect for:

• Children experiencing the loss of a cat or other beloved pet
• Parents and caregivers helping a child understand grief
• Families preparing to say goodbye to an aging or sick pet
• Pet memorial and sympathy gifts
• Reading together after the loss of a furry family member

Inspired by a very real and very loved cat named Max, My Forever Cat is a story for every child who has ever loved an animal enough to miss them.

Because some cats stay with us for a little while—but the love they leave behind stays forever.
