The Forge of Law (The Old Forge Trilogy)

One wouldn’t expect a blacksmith’s apprentice to wield magic. And Rowan intends to keep that secret buried deep.

Desperate to avoid the same fate as his mother, who was put to death as a witch, Rowan fights to escape the rumors of his birthmark and the shadow of her legacy. Forced to train as a blacksmith to survive, he keeps his head down, his hammer swinging, and his secrets buried deep. But one fateful night, a chance encounter with a phoenix changes everything. The mythical creature enchants his hammer, imbuing it with magic beyond his wildest dreams—and nightmares.

Now, Rowan must master his new powers while hiding them from a town that would burn him at the stake for less. As the War of the Roses brews in the background, threatening to erupt, Rowan is caught between two paths. Will he use his magic to protect the vulnerable and those he holds dear? Or will he succumb to the temptation of power and wealth, turning the chaos of war to his advantage?

Rowan's choice will determine not only his fate, but the fate of those around him. In a world where magic is feared and the line between hero and villain blurs, Rowan must decide what kind of blacksmith he will become—before the war makes the choice for him.

As a self-published indie author, I'm passionate about crafting immersive stories that transport readers to new worlds.

My debut book, The Forge of Law, is the first instalment in a thrilling trilogy that blends the dramatic events of the War of the Roses with a young adults magical fantasy. When I'm not writing, you can find me researching historical events, exploring ideas of mythology and magic, or clearing my mind while swimming - it's in these quiet moments that my thoughts come together and the story begins to unfold.

I'm currently working on the second book in the Old Forge trilogy, and I'm excited to share it with you you in the future.
