Forged in Honor

Bestselling author Leonard B. Scott once again combines world events, high-tech intelligence, and gritty guerrilla warfare to produce a fast-paced military thriller about honor and courage.
When retired Special Forces colonel Joshua Hawkins is recalled to active duty by order of the President, he must return to a past he could never lay to rest. After the American Embassy in Burma is bombed, a secret mission is planned--and Hawkins's childhood there makes him an invaluable guide. Aptly named "Operation Miracle," the mission will need the CIA, DEA, and the Special Operations Commando. It will also need the Green Beret experience and intimate knowledge of the country that only Hawkins can provide.
But Hawkins's relations with exotic Burma go deeper than geography. He has a special bond with the Shan, the proud and independent mountain tribe of northern Burma. Hawkins trained as a warrior with his friend Stephen, the son of the Shan warlord, and became a Horseman of the Shan hill people, earning the coveted warriors' silver bracelet, forged in honor, that he still wears.

Now Hawkins is called again to serve his country, to save his Shan friend, and to help the brave people he has never forgotten in their fight against a corrupt government and a ruthless heroin syndicate. It's a big job, but Hawkins and his men are up to it--and not above using frontier justice to teach the despots a thing or two, the old-fashioned way....
